Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 “Banyan Group 100 Stories 2025” (the “Campaign”) is organised by Banyan Tree Marketing Group (the “Organiser”).
1.2 The Campaign commences on 1 September 2025, 0000hrs (GMT+8) and ends on 9 December 2025, 2359hrs (GMT+8) (the “Campaign Period”).
2. Eligibility
2.1 Subject to Clause 8.3, the Campaign is open to all and participation in the Campaign is free.
2.2 Participants aged 18 years and below requires the consent of their parent or legal guardian in order to participate in this Campaign.
2.3 In order to qualify for the Campaign, participants must:
a. create and submit at least one original postcard via www.groupbanyan.com/100-stories between 1 September and 9 December 2025 (the “Qualifying Period”); and
b. the postcard needs to comply with all Content Guidelines (see Section 2 below) and receive approval from the Organiser.
2.4 This Campaign is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in this document (the “Terms and Conditions”). By participating or entering this Campaign, all participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
3. Content Guidelines
3.1 Submissions must:
a. Be an original work created by the Participant with all necessary rights granted for use under these Terms and Conditions.
b. Avoid all prohibited content, including but not limited to the following:
i. profanity, hate speech, defamatory or discriminatory material;
ii. sexually explicit, violent, or illegal content;
iii. commercial promotions; or
iv. false or misleading claims.
c. Respect the privacy of individuals where individuals identified must express consent on the disclosure of personal information, including name, address, contact details and identification numbers.
d. Abide by the word limit of a maximum of 400 characters in written text.
3.2 Submissions will be reviewed by the Organiser for compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
3.3 The Organiser reserves the absolute right to reject or remove any Submission that violates these Guidelines and disqualify Participants who breach these Terms.
3.4 Approval of Submissions by the Organiser does not constitute endorsement or guarantee of selection as a winner.
4. Judging Process and Criteria
4.1 Submissions will be judged based on Relevance (relating to Banyan Group properties and travel experiences), Originality (fresh perspective or unexpected insights about the journey), Emotional Impact (ability to inspire or evoke genuine connection) and Narrative Quality (clarity, coherence, and storytelling skill).
4.2 No correspondence will be entertained by the Organiser on the subject of this Section 4 before, during, and/or after the Campaign.
4.3 The decisions of the judges are final, and the Organiser reserves the right not to award any of the stipulated prizes should the submissions fail, in the judges’ opinion, to meet the required standards.
5. Winners and Prizes
5.1 100 winners will be selected from the pool of eligible Participants (collectively the “Winners” and each a “Winner”) by 23 December 2025 2359hrs GMT+8.
5.2 Grand Prizes (the “Prizes”): Each of the top three (3) Winners will be awarded one (1) three-day, two-night stay for two (2) adults in one room at any participating Banyan Group hotels and resorts worldwide.
a. Stay must be redeemed by 30 June 2026 (the “Redemption Period”) with no extension to be granted. Redemption of hotel stays will be done directly with the chosen hotel, subject to availability.
b. Hotel stays are subject to their own terms and conditions, including blackout dates.
c. Any additional services or amenities requested by the Winner is subject to availability and may entail additional cost to be borne by the Winner, and is subject to each hotel’s sole discretion.
5.3 Secondary Prizes (the “Prizes”): 97 Winners will be awarded one (1) USD$100 Banyan Group e-gift card.
a. e-Gift Cards are valid for one year and must be redeemed by 31 December 2026 (the “Redemption Period”). It is non-refundable and non-extendable.
b. e-Gift Cards can only be redeemed at eligible participating locations under Banyan Group.
c. Other terms and conditions governing the e-Gift Cards apply and will be provided upon issuance.
5.4 All Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash, credits or otherwise in full or in part or refundable.
6. Announcement of Winners and Prize Claim
6.1 The Winners will be notified of their Prizes by the Organiser via their last known email address(es) stated in the records maintained with the Organiser no later than 23 December 2025 2359hrs GMT+8 or by such other date as the Organiser may determine at its discretion (the “Notification”).
6.2 The Winners are required to acknowledge receipt of the Notification by no later than 30 January 2026 2359hrs GMT+8.
6.3 Upon acknowledgement, the Organiser may request for a verification of the Winner’s eligibility and/or identity through the submission of passport or identification card details, and provide further steps for the Winners to claim their Prizes.
6.4 If a Winner is not contactable, fails to acknowledge receipt of the Notification by 30 January 2026 2359hrs GMT+8 or is found to be ineligible, the Prize will be forfeited.
6.5 If any of the Prizes remain unclaimed by the Redemption Period, or if any of the Winners is subsequently discovered to be ineligible to participate or receive the Prize, the Organiser reserves the right to forfeit the Prize and award or dispose of it in such manner and to such persons as the Organiser deems fit without any liability on the part of the Organiser to the Winner whose Prize was forfeited/reclaimed.
6.6 No payment or compensation whether in cash or credit shall be made for the forfeited/reclaimed Prize in the event of non-receipt of the Notification.
6.7 The Organiser may, at any time and from time to time in its discretion and without prior notice or assigning any reason thereof or assuming any liability or payment of compensation to any person, substitute, replace or change the Prizes stipulated herein, with another item of similar value (whether in cash or otherwise).
7. Obligations of Participation
7.1 Participation in the Campaign is subject to the Terms and Conditions and the Participants are deemed to have accepted the Terms and Conditions when they participate in the Campaign. The Participants and Winners undertakes to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser or its employees and agents from and against any claims, expenses, actions, losses, liabilities or damages or costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) made against or incurred or sustained by the Organiser or its employees and agents in connection with his/her participation in this Campaign and/or any breach of the Terms and Conditions.
7.2 By participating in the Campaign, each Participant and Winner expressly and irrevocably consents to the collection, use, disclosure, processing, and retention of their personal data (including name, identification number, passport number, email address, contact details, and photographs) by the Organiser and its authorised third-party service providers for: (i) administering the Campaign; (ii) advertising, promotional, publicity, or commercial purposes; (iii) market research and analytics; and (iv) any other purposes reasonably required by the Organiser in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 or any other applicable laws. This consent remains valid notwithstanding any termination of the Participant's relationship with the Organiser. The Organiser may retain such personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws.
7.3 By submitting a postcard in the Campaign, Participants irrevocably grant the Organiser a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display, and otherwise exploit the Submissions in any media or format now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to advertising, promotional materials, websites, social media, brochures, merchandise, and other commercial purposes, without further approval from or compensation to the Participant. Participants waive all moral rights in relation to their Submissions to the extent permitted by law. Participants warrant that their Submissions do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser, its employees or agents against any claims arising from breach of this warranty.
7.4 All Submissions in the Campaign shall be the sole property of the Organiser. The Organiser reserves the right to retain all Submissions and any supporting documentation submitted by the Participants.
8. Miscellaneous
8.1 Organiser reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions or terminate/modify this Campaign without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion.
8.2 In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancies between the Terms and Conditions and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the Campaign, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
8.3 Employees of Banyan Group and their immediate families, affiliates, subsidiaries, related agencies, principal sponsors, IATA travel agents and suppliers are not eligible to participate in the campaign.
8.4 To the extent permitted by applicable laws, the Participant agrees that the Organiser shall not be liable, under any circumstances and in any way, for any liabilities, errors or omissions, loss, damage, costs and expenses of any kind suffered or incurred as a result of his/her participation (or inability to participate) in the Campaign. The Participant agrees to be liable to and indemnify the Organiser and their respective employees and agents, in the event any of the foregoing parties suffer or incur any liabilities, loss, damage, costs, or expenses arising from or related to the Participant’s acts or omissions in relation to the Campaign.
8.5 A person who is not a party to any agreement governed by the Terms and Conditions shall have no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any term of such agreement.
8.6 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and all Participants shall be deemed to have irrevocably agreed to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
