If this place could whisper a lesson to you, what would it be?
Honor your body, the temple of your soul. Nurture it, care for it, and allow it to recover. I visited for work, never expecting rest, yet simply stepping onto the grounds of Banyan Tree AlUla brought a calm I didn’t know I was missing. In the stillness of the valley, my body relaxed - a reminder that even in the busiest moments, we must pause, breathe, and restore.

What sights will stay in your memory?
I can’t choose between the decadent halls, the painted walls. The sweet jasmine fragrances as I pass the souvenir shop. Or the blast of cool air that I leave to get my taxi into the city. I can’t choose between the opulent textiles or the plush bedsheets. The view at night breathtaking, buildings look like candles lit in the night sky. The memory of them all combined makes it unforgettable

If this place were a feeling, what would it be and why?
If this place were a feeling, it would be peaceful fulfillment — the quiet joy of knowing that every detail we create, from the view to the setting, offers our guests a moment of calm where they can truly pause, connect, and just be.

What sights will stay in your memory?
The sight that will stay in my memory would be from the very begging as you arrive. When you arrive they welcome you nicely and they even have an amazing view as you arrive. I went to the Banyan for my birthday and ever since then I recommend friends to stay in their locations. It’s very relaxing and private to stay and there’s no regrets of staying there. Very pleased for a birthday weekend.

How did this journey reconnect you with something you had forgotten?
Leading Banyan’s sustainability programs in Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains reawakened a part of me I had forgotten. Meeting locals reminded me of my grandparents, their warmth, traditions, and simple ways of living. It felt like coming home to my roots, reconnecting with the values and customs that shaped who I am today

If this place could whisper a lesson to you, what would it be?
I was 2 weeks on crutches at Banyan in Bangkok. Hospitality always had my taxi ready for hospital visits and staff cheered me on as I practiced walking in the hallways.

Room service was exceptionally good and I always received a nightly sweet gift. My little green turtle stays always on my Christmas tree. Kind, sweet generous Banyan people. I’d love to go back without crutches!

If this place were a feeling, what would it be and why?
Tranquility. The wide open spaces, surrounded on every corner by nature, the room that feels like an extension of the peaceful natural setting, never far from the cooing of birds, the soft breeze, the meals eaten with mindfulness, and the unhurried and purposeful rhythm of life - all calmly guiding and nudging us to be peaceful, mindful, and be at peace with nature. Moving us to return again soon.

If you could gift one part of this experience to someone else, what would it be?
This time, I return to Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru with my daughter by my side. She and I share a love of the sea and snorkeling together has become our way of exploring the world, one reef at a time. We have traveled extensively, but nowhere captures our hearts quite like this island.

I visited the island once before, and the memory has stayed with me. I want to share this with her.

If this place were a feeling, what would it be and why?
If this place were a feeling, it would be the exhale i didn't know i was holding. Gentle, serene and light, letting go of city dust, relieved of all tightness and letting go of everything that weighs.

If this place were a feeling, it would be the joy of cradling a newborn. With the break of dawn draping me in tender warmth. A place where I belong.
