What did this journey invite you to let go of, and what did it allow you to embrace?
No more to-do lists, no more calendars.
Just me, Riviera Maya sand underfoot, sunlight sparkling like champagne, and the cheerful chaos of families laughing by the sea.

Luxury, I realized, is messy, imperfect, and best enjoyed barefoot—(especially with the smoky flavors of a Tomahawk Open Fire Grill feast steps from the waves!)

What did this journey invite you to let go of, and what did it allow you to embrace?
This journey to Kuala Lumpur invited me to let go of control. In a world of online reviews, my itinerary was a checklist of other people's perfect moments.

It was December of 2019 when the our jaws met the floorboard of the Banyan Tree Lijiang overshadowed by silhouette of the Jade Dragon Snow mountain. Something lifechanging was brewing domestically and globally. The powdered snow that melted away in the palm reminded us of our insignificance and our responsibility to do better.

If this place were a feeling, what would it be and why?
Togetherness… the hotel was the perfect place for our family to discover the beauty of just being together in breathtaking surroundings. No place to be - just our kids playing in the sun-kissed sea. Sunsets at the large private beach, the roar of the ocean, and the friendly staff, left us with the feeling of togetherness.

If you could gift one part of this experience to someone else, what would it be?
Two cousins...and a baby. 17 years ago cousin Jo and I went for a short beach getaway with my baby E at Angsana Bintan. A much needed break for me, a newbie mum. Jo was a great help despite her youth. We were awed by the resort and pristine beach. Jo, I remember how you hugged E closely while at the windy beach, laughed about being blown away..almost. Let's go with our children for another trip!
